Episode Notes:
Leslie starts off the episode joking about the ease of preparing for this episode as she loves shopping. In this episode, there are no affiliate links or sponsorships. Instead, you are getting Leslie and Leslyn’s full and honest opinion on some of their favorite finds recently.
During the pandemic, we have seen nail salons closed for months on end. For Leslie, her first recommended item that she has really loved recently is Kiss Press-On Nails. Leslie shares that they have come in handy and have actually exceeded her original expectation. She has received so many compliments for her press-on nails that are cheap, look good, and last a long time!
Leslyn shares a tool that if you don’t have it, you definitely want it. It’s something that you don’t use often but comes in handy when needed. Leslyn explains that her pressure washer is one of her favorite finds that she has had for over 20 years now. It is one of the most gratifying things and helps make anything look brand new!
The next recommendation, Leslie shares the product Ozeri Stone Earth Frying Pan. It’s APEO and PFOA-free as well as non-stick. Leslie has no idea how she lived without it! She can fry anything in it with no butter or oil and it won’t stick making cleanup a breeze.
Leslyn also shares a cooking device, her Dutch Oven. It’s an enameled cast iron dutch oven with stainless steel knob and loop handles. Leslyn uses this on a weekly basis and has made things like bread, deep fried items, soups, stews, and sauces. There are a lot of different recipes that can be done in a Dutch Oven and Leslyn highly recommends looking into it.
The next product Leslie recommends is Teami Greens Superfood Powder. Leslie actually got this product a couple months ago but finally was able to use it and found that she loved it. She was happy to see that it was not the same consistency as other powdered drink mixes. Leslie shares that the Green Superfood Powder is really tasty and tastes like matcha tea. One scoop of the powder is 35 calories and you get 3g of protein along with the necessary punch of greens!
Leslyn’s next item she was a very late adopter of but now wonders how she lived without it. Leslyn owns three Amazon Echos that she has around her home. She loves being able to just vocalize for her music to play. Leslie shares that she has a Google Home and loves it because she can broadcast a message to her kids that are in a different part of the house. Leslyn shares that one of her favorite things about the Echo is it makes it easy to find her phone as it will make her phone ring if she asks where her phone is at! You can also buy smart lightbulbs and plugs that can turn off and on when you vocalize the action. This smart device is definitely one to look into if you do not already have one.
While recording, Leslie thinks of a fourth recommendation called MyQ. It’s a wireless device that you put on your garage door and it will automatically close your door from an app on your phone. Leslie shares how when she was on vacation in Ireland last year, she was still able to open her garage from across the world! You can also set up the app to automatically close your garage door at certain times.
Leslyn adds another recommendation that is not so much an item but more a service. Amazon wish list is a great way to remind yourself of things by quickly being able to add to your list. Leslyn shares that she asks her family members to make Amazon wish lists for Christmas and this allows her to have an idea of what her family wants for holidays!
Leslie and Leslyn share that they hope you will feel free to try any of these at home if you are interested. They also reach out to you, the listener, to share some of your favorite products!
